Batch Tested

Batch tested means every production run of a supplement is independently tested for content, purity, and banned substances before release. It is a stronger guarantee than a one-time facility certification because every tub you buy can be traced to a specific tested batch.

Why It Matters

A facility-level certification (GMP, NSF) tells you the manufacturing environment is clean. Batch testing goes further by verifying the actual product in the tub on your shelf. For athletes subject to drug testing, batch-level certification (Informed Sport, NSF Certified for Sport) is the only meaningful protection against accidental contamination.

Even non-competing lifters benefit from batch testing because it catches manufacturing errors, label inaccuracies, and contamination that a one-time audit could miss.

How to Spot It on a Label

Look for batch tested or per-batch tested on the tub, often paired with a lookup tool on the brand website where you enter the batch number from the bottom of the container to see the matching COA.
