NSF Certified for Sport

NSF Certified for Sport is the gold-standard third-party testing program for athletes. Products are tested for banned substances, heavy metals, microbial contamination, and label accuracy. The certification mark is required by the NFL, MLB, NHL and most college athletic programs.

Why It Matters

If you compete in a tested sport, NSF Certified for Sport is non-negotiable. The certification means your tub has been audited against the WADA banned-substance list and tested for label accuracy (protein content matching the front of the tub). For non-athletes, NSF still signals a manufacturer willing to be audited.

How to Spot It on a Label

The NSF Certified for Sport logo is a blue-and-yellow seal usually on the back of the label. Klean Athlete, BodyTech (GNC) and several Optimum Nutrition products are common NSF-certified picks.
