USP Verified
USP Verified is a US Pharmacopeia certification program that verifies that a supplement contains the ingredients listed on the label, in the declared potencies, and is free of harmful contaminants. The USP seal is one of the strictest non-pharmaceutical quality marks available.
Why It Matters
USP is the pharma-grade equivalent in the supplement world. It is harder to obtain than NSF or Informed Sport because USP requires audits of the entire manufacturing process. Most major protein brands skip it because it is expensive, but the USP seal on a tub is a very strong quality signal.
How to Spot It on a Label
The USP Verified Mark is a small yellow circle with a black USP logo. Common on vitamin and mineral products, less common on protein supplements. Klean Athlete and some Nature Made products carry it.
