Scoop Size
Scoop size is the total weight of one serving of powder, measured in grams. A typical whey scoop is 27 to 35g; an isolate scoop is 27 to 30g; a mass gainer scoop is 100g or more. Smaller, denser scoops generally indicate higher-purity protein.
Why It Matters
Scoop size affects two things you care about: how much protein you get per scoop, and how many scoops fit in a tub. A 5lb tub with a 30g scoop yields about 75 servings; the same tub with a 50g scoop yields 45. Always look at servings-per-container alongside the protein-per-serve number.
How to Spot It on a Label
Scoop size appears in the Nutrition Facts panel as 'Serving Size' in grams. Cross-reference with the protein gram count to get the protein-percent. Watch for products where the recommended serving is two scoops: the printed per-scoop protein has to be doubled to get the true serving content.
